A stragity that really stood out to me was the one developed in the United Arab Emirates. This countries government really got involved by increasing infostructure to promote tourism growth. The United Arab Emirates in a hub of tourism and trade in the Persian Gulf making it a prime destination for anyone wanting to experience the Middle East. The UAE’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) is headed by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. The prince has established 14 overseas offices to help promote tourism in Dubai, and the rest of the UAE. The DTCM is responsible for the licensing of hotels, hotel apartments, tour operators, tourist transport companies, and travel agents. Its supervisory role also covers all tourist, archaeological, and heritage sites, tourism

I prefer the UAEs strategy for handling tourism because it seems like it was created with the consumer in mind, and not just profits. There was also a great deal of focus on sustainability and infrastructure support so the UAE can remain a top destination for many years to come. Tourism has surged in Dubai allowing them to build the worlds first six star hotel, the Burj Al Arab. Additionally, the UAE has put a great deal of effort and money in repairing the negative image cast upon the Middle East. This newly developed image has generated a great deal of tourism form the west with increasing numbers from China and India....
