Personal Commitments Assessment
Be sure you answer both Part 1 and Part 2 of this assignment before submitting.
Part 1
After reading Chapter 2 in the textbook and the lecture for this topic, write a two- to three-
sentence answer to each of the six questions that form the basic components or personal
commitments for your worldview. Answer the questions about your own beliefs in your own
words, not what you think the Christian worldview believes. Keep this worksheet intact and only
add your answers under each question.
1.
What is your belief about ultimate reality?
My beliefs on ultimate reality are mainly in nature. I believe there are energies in everything
that we interact with, especially in nature. From the way that the wind blows to the way that
plants perk up when you water them, and the way I cat would look at you after rescuing it. I
think that nature is the main driving force and what goes around comes around, so if
someone is kind and caring to others, including the earth, then the universe will be kind and
caring back.
2.
What is your belief about the nature of the universe?
I believe that the origin of the universe was a natural happening. I do not believe that God
created mankind and that there was Adam and Eve. I believe in the science of evolution. I
think that there are other forces at work that are supernatural and that all living things have
souls, meaning that all plants and animals, even bacteria, have a soul of some sort.
Everything lives their lives and what we do to others and other things will reflect back to us
in our next life.
