Part One: Summary The article, “Technology can help keep the elderly safe”, by Kim Komando is from USA Today and it talks about how technology can help working and busy children help take care of their old parents more efficiently. The author, Kim Komando, shares her opinion that such technologies can help take care our old parents more. She proposes that these technologies will help the “elderly parents live independently longer”. In the article she provides lots of examples like “webcams are great for checking in with family. They're a simple and inexpensive solution. Most are priced less than $50”, “You can also monitor your parents via a security camera. These are designed to protect areas from thieves and intruders. They start around $100” in order to support her opinion. She even put the price of each technology that people can use so that it will more efficient to understand. When I read this article I found it very interesting because in a research paper I did on euthanasia, one of the arguments on euthanasia was that when children are busy
