Unformatted text preview: Even though he is trying to tell people he is sane in all his deeds but everything he did and said is not normal “Object there was none. Passion there was none. I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire. I think it was his eye”. He killed the old man just only to get rid of the pale blue eye and it took him eight days to get a glance from it which forced him to kill him violently. After the murder and the hiding of the corpse, the narrator started to worry about the “dead man’s beating heart” which kept disturbing him all time, he began to hear the beating from the old man’s buried body when the policemen came to him to ask about the old man. In the story the describes this scene very violently when the beating grew louder to appoint where he can’t take it any more and he confess what he did. All these feelings he shows completely proves he is insane....
