In one good body paragraph, make an argument either supporting, denying, or qualifying this statement: “The narrator successfully proved that he was SANE during the course of his narrative. The Tell-Tale Heart is a story about a man (narrator) who goes to the bedroom of an old man for eight continues nights because he wanted to kill the old man as his pale blue eye which the narrator describes “resembled that of a vulture” was disturbing the narrator. He went to the old man’s room for seven consecutive nights, but couldn’t kill him because his eyes were closed as he was sleeping. But on the eight night he achieved what he wanted because those eyes were staring upon him. Throughout the entire story the narrator is trying to convince people that he is not mad in his intentions towards the old man, “If you still think me mad, you will think so no longer when I describe the wise precautions I took for the concealment of the body” He states after he killed the old man he “cut off the head and the arms and the legs”. He is feeling proud of the way he did all his insane work.

I loved the old man. He had never wronged me. He had never given me insult. For his gold I had no desire. I think it was his eye”. He killed the old man just only to get rid of the pale blue eye and it took him eight days to get a glance from it which forced him to kill him violently. After the murder and the hiding of the corpse, the narrator started to worry about the “dead man’s beating heart” which kept disturbing him all time, he began to hear the beating from the old man’s buried body when the policemen came to him to ask about the old man. In the story the describes this scene very violently when the beating grew louder to appoint where he can’t take it any more and he confess what he did. All these feelings he shows completely proves he is insane....
