April 23, 2008 The Honorable Kofi Annan Secretary-General United Nations Secretariat, Rm. 3800 New York, NY 10017 Dear Mr. Kofi Annan, What is happening to Darfur? The continuation of WWII genocide or an another version of that. Hundreds of thousands of civilians have died from violence, disease, starvation and thousands of women have been raped. More than 2.5 million civilians have been driven from their homes, their villages torched and property stolen. Thousands of villages have been systematically destroyed and more than 230,000 people have fled to neighboring Chad. Most of the displaced are not returning home for fear that their villages will be attacked again. Should we just witness all these and stay motionless? The United Nations is a very big force. You can make a difference in the life of those victims by ending all these cruelties and providing them a better fearless life. And you must do that with your power are the humanity that lies with in you. The United Nations must send troops to Darfur to end the genocide happening there. There is an argument that Sudan claims they have no problem. But the evidence clearly shows the injustice happening there.
