Chun Zhu Department of Economics Michigan State University 120F Marshall-Adams Hall E-mail: zhuc@msu.edu EC 340 Survey of International Economics Objectives : The primary objective of this course is to provide a broad overview of international economics and the international economy. The first half of this course focuses on international trade and commercial policies, while the second half deals with the balance of payments and foreign exchange markets. Class : Tuesday and Thursday 2:40-4:00pm in 206 Old Horticulture Building Office Hours : Tuesday and Thursday 4:00-5:00pm Required Textbook : Robert C. Feenstra and Alan M. Taylor, “International Economics” (1 st or 2 nd edition), Worth Publishers Two copies of the 1 st edition and one copy of the 2 nd edition have been placed at the Reserve Desk (up to 2 hours) in the Main Library. Teaching Assistants : 1. Ashesh Prasan ( prasann2@msu.edu ): His office hours are on Mondays from 2:30-4:30pm and on Thursdays from 10:30am-12:30pm. His office is 5J Berkey Hall (in the basement). 2. Yingying Shi ( shiyingy@msu.edu ): Her office hours are on Mondays from 12:30-2:30pm. Her office is 206 Old Botany. 3. Amanda Stype ( stypeama@msu.edu ): Her office hours are on Wednesdays from 1:00-3:00pm. Her office is 206 Old Botany Desk #13.
