Chem E-1b: Course Schedule, Spring 2012 General Schedule: Lectures are on Thursdays, 6-9 pm in Hall B. •Reviews are on Fridays, 5-6:30 pm in Hall B. (Note: On the Fridays prior to exams, Reviews will meet from 5-7 pm) •Sections and Laboratories are on Sat., Mon., Tue., and Wed. as assigned. Planning your week: •Read the relevant chapter(s) in the textbook prior to each lecture. Do the Practice Examples as you go. •Begin work on the relevant Practice Problems problems prior to your section meeting so that you have a clear idea of what material you are comfortable with and what material you need help with before you come to section. •If a laboratory is scheduled, students need to have read the laboratory and completed the Prelab questions prior to coming to the lab. •Problem Sets are due promptly by 6 pm on Thursdays each week as indicated. •By the end of each “week” you should have completed all of the relevant Practice Problems problems for that material. Week 1 Thur. 1/26: Lecture: Chapter 12 (Intermolecular Forces and Liquids and Solids) Fri. 1/27: Review: Chapter 12 Sat. 1/28 – Wed. 2/1: Section: Chapter 12, Practice Problems pp. 59-63 No Laboratory Week 2 Thur. 2/2: Problem Set #1 due by 6 pm Lecture: Chapter 14, Sections 14.1-14.4 (Chemical Kinetics, Part I) Fri. 2/3: Review: Chapter 14 (Sections 14.1-14.4) Sat. 2/4 – Wed. 2/8: Section: Chapter 14 (Sections 14.1-14.4), Practice Problems pp. 64-67 Laboratory Experiment #10: Spectrophotometry and the Spectronic 20 Week 3 Thur. 2/9:
