LaToya Williams 8-1 Short Answer: Religion in the Media A Wrinkle in Time before it became a movie it was a book written by Madeleine L’Engle 1962. It was consider one of the most banned and challenged books. Conservative Christians argued that the author mixed science and religion. They argue that the book mixed witch craft and religion together and that was consider unorthodox. That theory was based three of main characters, was considered spiritual, angelic and sort of witchy. Another controversy part was a scene which some Christian believe they was depicts Jesus, Gandhi, Einstein and the Buddha. Modern Christians believe the book wasn’t being offensive to religion that book was just merely all science fiction.
