Sales Professional and Company I chose to shadow Doug Rios, a Certified Spet at Complete Nutrition. Doug has been working here since July 2011 and does not consider it work because he loves what he does. Complete Nutrition started in 2004 and now is one of the fastest-growing franchises with over 120 franchises in over 30 states. The company sells a range of items from weight-loss supplements, mass building supplements, pre-workout boosters, and vitamins/general health supplements. How I Learned About The Sales Professional When I first learned about this project I was originally following a different student in AEB 3341. As the project due date was nearing I was trying to figure out what day I would be free to follow her. Doug was really friendly and gave me his number and work schedule and told me to come in whenever I want. Three Lessons Learned I learned many things from shadowing Doug Rios but three things really stuck out. First, the most important thing that I learned was you really have to get to know your customer. The two main reasons for this is it that it makes the customer feel that you really care about them and it also helps you match them Page 2 of 13 with the product that will be the best for the customer. Secondly, another huge concept that I learned from Doug was how well you need to know your products. Some of the customers have great questions about the product and if you don’t know every detail about the product or chemical components then the customer will walk out of your store. Thirdly, I learned that being able to multi-task and talk to several customers at once is crucial. Doug was the only one working in the store and had to accommodate multiple customers at the same time....
