A DC separately excited motor has the following parameters: P = 2.3 hp, V a = 220 V, n = 6000 rpm, R a = 1.186 Ω , L a = 1.82 mH, K = K f ⋅ I f = 0.331 V/ (rad/s), J M = 0.002 kg ⋅ m 2 , B M = 0.001 N ⋅ m/(rad/s). 1. When the rotor is fully loaded (rated torque): a) Calculate the rated angular speed, rated torque, rated armature current, and the motor efficiency (ignore the field power loss). b) Find the voltage that supplies the armature winding to adjust the speed to 50% of its rated value (maintaining the rated field current). c) Find the percentage of the rated field current to adjust the speed to 130% of its rated value (keeping the rated supply voltage). 2.
