Please don’t use random pieces of paper, as you may lose them. A collegiate dictionary . Share-words are vocabulary words that we will choose. Each student will choose one word a week. I will sometimes choose a word for the class also. You will not be tested on these words, but I would like you to use at least 5 of them in each essay. This is simply to increase your vocabulary so that you can communicate better, not to torture you or make you sound snobby. This is a writing class, so PLEASE bring pen and paper to class every day, as well as your journal. Class Participation This is a workshop style class. This means that participation is very important. You will comment on other students’ works, as well as share your own I will do my best to make sure that everyone participates. I will take into account individual personalities (shyness, over-zealousness, etc.). I will be thrilled if you are a zealous student, but try not to monopolize your classmates’ time. Attendance
