(2008) A Systems Approach to Small Group Interaction (10 th ed). New York: McGraw Hill COURSE CATALOG DESCRIPTION An in-depth study of self-directed teams and team processes in the work setting focused to better understand team functions under varying task conditions. Especially emphasized will be the leadership of work teams for effective performance and maximum member satisfaction. This course deals extensively with maintenance and task behaviors of team members. COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon the completion of this course, including class attendance and fulfillment of project requirements, students should be able to: 1. Identify various principles and theories of group dynamics within the framework of an "advanced" course in organizational behavior. 2. Provide opportunities to become skilled participant-observers of team processes in order that the student may be more effective as team leaders and as team members in organizations of work. 3. Have a working knowledge of the behavior of the team leader and team members in developing work teams into high performance teams.
