Unformatted text preview: Creating Menus Lab Access 2007 The following exercises will be additions to your chap2_pe3_insurance_solution database. Creating Reports: You are to create three reports that will become objects of this database: - Employee Master Report - Atlanta Employees Report - Boston Employees Report The Employee Master Report: Generating the Employee Master Report: Select the Employees Table. Under the CREATE tab, select the REPORT WIZARD command in the Reports Gallery. This starts the report wizard. - Which fields do you want on your report? Select the following fields from the Employee table: o LastName o FirstName o Salary o Performance Change to the Location table and select the following fields: o Location Change to the Title table and select the following fields: o Title Click NEXT - Do you want to add any grouping level? o None is needed. If grouping is set on, remove it. o NEXT - What sort order? o LastName (Ascending) o FirstName (Ascending) o NEXT - What type of Layout? o Tabular o Orientation Landscape o Make sure Adjust the field width so all fields fit on a page is ON. o NEXT - What style? o Select FLOW. o NEXT - What Name? o EMPLOYEE MASTER REPORT o Preview the Report. o FINISH What do you think? I see some problems, so the Report should be modified. Close the Report Preview. Modifying the Employee Master Report: Select the Employee Master Report. Change to Design View. Adding a label: As creator of the report, you need to add a Label Control to the right side of the Report Header indicating the report was Prepared by: your name. Adjusting the Field locations: Fields within a Report can be adjusted like objects on a PowerPoint slide. Click to select the desired field. Use the four-way arrow (on corner) to move a field up and down. Use the two-way dialog arrow (lower left corner) to move side to side. Use the two-way arrow (on sides) to adjust the width. Do remember if you made adjustments to the data fields (bound controls) within the detail portion of the report, the unbound associated labels will be adjusted too. Adjust the fields so the report looks well spaced out. Alignment within the fields can be changed too. Once the report looks good, save it. The Atlanta Report: In order to create a report contain only the employees located in Atlanta, you must base the report on the Your Name Atlanta query. Select this query. Under the Create Tab - Using the REPORT WIZARD in the Report Galley, generate a report containing the following:- Which fields? o Location o LastName o FirstName o Salary o NEXT - How do you want to view your data?...
