E-65c 2011 Study Guide Final Exam – Questions/Objectives General 1) Be able to answer all of the thought questions presented during lecture. 2) You should understand and be able to draw all of the graphs and figures presented in class and explain them. 3) Be sure you can answer all relevant questions at the back of the chapters of assigned reading in the textbook. 4) Be sure to be familiar with all of the material from previous study guides, from previous exams and from lab. Endocrinology 1) What are the types of hormones and what hormones fall into which category? 2) What are the three mechanisms of hormone action that we discussed in class and which hormones use which mechanisms? 3) How are hormones eliminated from the blood? 4) How is hormonal release regulated? 5) You should know the names, functions and feedback loops (if discussed) for all hormones made in the hypothalamus, the pituitary, the thyroid, the parathyroid, the adrenal gland, the pancreas and the pineal gland. 6)
