In this paper, we know that the ciliary entry of the kinesin-2 motor KIF17 is regulated by importin-b2 and RAN-GTP. However, the author wants to go in deeper by figuring out the exact mechanism which governs this regulation. Along the way, they have assumed that if they can locate the CLS, the identitiy of the regulator machinery will be found. Furthermore, they have assumed that a CLS should be both necessary and sufficient for ciliary location. Lastly, they hypothesized that the ciliary location should not be functional without the machine that recognizes the CLS. 2. What is the cellular function of kinesin motors?
