The planet has an orbital period of 4.32 x 10 6 seconds and an average orbital radius of 3.10 x 10 10 meters. 1) What is the mass of the star? A coin with a mass of 5 grams rests on a spinning disk (a “turntable”) at a spot 15 cm from the axis of rotation. The turntable rotates so that the coin moves at 0.60 m/s in a circular path without slipping. The coefficient of friction between the coin and the surface of the turntable is 0.50. 2) What friction force acts on the coin? 3) The angular velocity of the turntable is increased until the coin slides. What is the speed of the coin when it slips? A 0.010-kg marble is propelled sideways by a spring toward the bottom of a frictionless circular loop of radius r = 0.60 m, as shown at right.
