Speakers Purpose: The purpose of our project was to simulate a common rotary speaker system and show some of its abilities. A rotary speaker system is a series of speakers which, when placed properly simulate a three dimensional sound system. It allows for example, a circular sound pattern. With surround sound systems becoming a greater part of the average home theater, this sound effect is being used more often. For our purposes, i have designed a simple version of this using the Blackfin processor. i will incorporate some user modifications to the system by way of the PF9-11 buttons. There will also be a visual indicator for volume using the on board LED’s. Procedure: I started the project with generating a single tone using basic coding. I chose to use a tone because it was easier for me to hear the speakers change volume with a constant source than with a varying audio file. The 400 Hz tone was generated using the following algorithm: static float y =0; int fs =48000; float pi =3.14159;
