Simply Scarves, Inc. Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedure Sexual harassment violates the dignity of individuals. It is a form of discrimination that violates federal and state laws and is prohibited at Simply Scarves, Inc (hereafter referred to as “the company”, or “Simply Scarves”. Simply Scarves is committed to providing a work environment that is free from sexual harassment. We work to prevent and address sexual harassment through educational programs, training, and complaint resolution. Simply Scarves encourages all members of the work community to report any concerns or complaints of sexual harassment. Managers, supervisors, and other agents of the company are required to respond promptly and appropriately to allegations of sexual harassment that are brought to their attention. Sexual harassment can occur between any individuals associated with Simply Scarves, whether between people of different sexes or the same sex. Sexual harassment can occur between people of unequal power or between peers. A victim does not have to be the direct recipient of the conduct but could be anyone affected by the conduct. Explanation of Sexual Harassment You have the right to work, learn, and live in an environment free from sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is a form of sex discrimination prohibited by Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and, in Kentucky, by the Fair Employment Practices Act, KRS 344.010 et seq and KRS 207.170. 1. Sexual harassment involves unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal, visual, or physical behaviors related to a person's gender, sexual identity, or sexuality when: 2. submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual's academic advancement or employment; 3. submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment decisions or academic decisions affecting such individual; or
