1 Physics 1C Introduction "You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother." --Albert Einstein Introduction Welcome to Physics 1C! Physics 1 is a three quarter course designed as an introduction into basic physics for students in the biological sciences. Physics 1C in particular will focus on waves, sound, light, and modern physics. Please note that the lecture and the lab are separate courses with separate instructors. Introduction Instructor: Dr. Mark Paddock I am a Research Scientist (Biophysics) and a Lecturer in the Physics department . My degree is in Physics from UCSD. This will be my 20th year at UCSD. In my spare time, I work on photosynthetic and mitochondrial membrane proteins.
