SID: 21846711 Chem 15 Lab Lab Section 101 GSI: Jamie Kulp Lab Partner: Yun Liang, Lucus Nguyen, Tran Nguyen, Uyen Chau, Xinrou Ren Locker numbers: G10-3 (606-3), G09-3 (27-5) Experiment 4 Determination of Fluoride Ion Introduction: Ion selective electrodes have membranes that can separate the test solution from a standard solution containing the analyte. In this lab, students will use the Fluoride solid-state Ion Selective Electrode to determine the concentration of fluoride ion in a number of substances. The goal of the first part of the experiment is to familiarize students with the fluoride ISE and to calibrate its response to see how selective it is. The goal of the second part of the experiment is to use the calibrated electrode to measure the fluoride ion concentration in several real samples. By doing so, they will explore the fluoridation in the environment. Data/ Results: *This section summarizes the data and results obtained from calculations. The calculations are done on the line papers. Calibration Curve points:
