However, chemicals, temperature, and various other factors can disrupt a protein’s three dimensional structure and make the molecule unfold. The goal of this experiment is to first examine how various chemical and temperature can affect the folding of the proteins and second to determine the transition midpoint of folding of the protein molecules using absorption spectroscopy and calculate the respective G 0 of unfolding of the protein. Data/ Results: -Part B: 7. Heating up the protein solution makes the protein molecule become unfolded, while cooling the solution does not.
