In my opinion, even though Cohen had the right to be offended, it was not the most appropriate thing to do. First of all, each corporations has rules that every employee must follow including dress code; usually those rules are explained to the employees and they must abide by them. On the other hand, she might have thought that her dress code was in line with the company’s rules since she did not get any warnings regarding her attire. However, in my opinion, even though it is not fair that she was not able to attend the meeting because she did not know her dress code was not appropriate, she needs to take responsibility. She cannot expect the company to change their rules and therefore, she must either conform to the culture and standards or find a more suitable company to work for. In explaining why she was offended, Cohen argued, “People my age are taught to express themselves, and saying something negative about someone’s fashion is saying something negative
