Jeremy Klif ID: 9128653432 BUAD 304 Assignment #5: Chapter 18 1) In my opinion, Toyota is an innovative company. By focusing on process innovations and small innovations, Toyota achieved to prevent the issue of change. As we have seen in this chapter, people are reluctant to change; mechanisms must be put in place for people to be more responsive to changes made in the company. On the other hand, I wouldn’t qualify Toyota of being a highly innovative company because its products and its processes are not changing the way people are whether it is what they drive or how they work. I consider revolutionary companies like Ford which started the Ford chain or Apple which implemented a brand new way of listening to music. In conclusion, Toyota is innovative in the sense that they make small changes to be able to sustain without being radical but it is not the type of company that changes the way people work or live their lives. 2)
