MIS 235 F,G,L Fall 2010 Network Security using CyberProtect Purpose: This assignment will allow the student to assume the role of a network security professional and make decisions that affect how a network’s security options are configured. The software will then test their configuration against random network attack scenarios. The student should gain insight into the types of resources available that can enhance the security of a computer network. They will also be familiarized with the different types of attacks to which computer networks are susceptible. Background Information: CyberProtect was developed as a training aid for novice network security professionals. The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), in conjunction with several entertainment software companies, produced an award winning simulation of the year- long life cycle of a simple computer network.
