ENGR 12600 Design Project Fall 2008 M2: Client, Goals, Criteria, and Constraints Meet face-to-face as team to do these tasks. You will turn them in at the end of Lab 13. Have your recorder type the work as you do it. Rotate the role of recorder for each task. The recorder should take notes, directly in electronic form if possible. Assign a timekeeper and encourager/gatekeeper at the time of the meeting. Individual preparation . Before attending your team meeting, every team member should complete the following review individually: Review the original project statement. Review the ideas your team generated for milestone M1. Review your lecture notes on “criteria”. Make sure that you can answer the questions, "What is a criterion?" and "How is a criterion different from a goal?" Task 1 : (10 minutes) As a team, list at least five potential clients for your project. For each potential client, list three goals for your project that would appeal to that client. At least one goal for each client has to be unique to that client (not duplicated for any other client). For each goal, briefly state (2 or 3 sentences) why you think the client would be interested in that result. Remember that goals are desired results and focus on results, not actions. A client is a person having the authority to select, fund, and/or implement your design. Task 2
