Question How do we get from ? h ( x ) = - 6 7 - 2 x + 3.5 f ( x ) = x
Manipulate the “Inside” first! -That is, Horizontal Transformation. Before transformations, always arrange the “inside” in the form k(x+h) , the coefficient before x needs to be always 1 !

Manipulate the “Inside” first! -That is, Horizontal Transformation . f(x)f(|k|x), If |k|>1, horizontally compressed by a factor of 1/|k| If |k|<1, horizontally stretched by a factor of 1/|k| Note, always compressed by a factor of a number that is positive and smaller than 1! Always stretched by a factor of a number that is positive and bigger than 1!
Manipulate the “Inside” first! -That is, Horizontal Transformation . f(|k|x)f(-|k|x), Reflect across the y-axis. Note, if you are confused as to which axis to reflect across, think of the fact that manipulation “inside” does not change the range . Only the reflection across the y-axis does not change range.
