1a) (5 pts) What major global marketing issue(s) does the article discuss? In the article To Conquer Wind Power, China writes the Rules, one of the issues that is discussed, is localization. The Spanish company, Gamesa, was able to gain entry in the China, which has been known to be very difficult for many counties to do so. They way that there were able to do so is through localization. Localization is defined as the process of translating a product into different languages or adapting a specific language for a region or country. The article states that Gamesa is made by local suppliers, companies that they have trained to meet the needs of the country, China. The companies pay their dues to Gamesa, by selling parts to Chinese competitors. Many companies would like to follow in their foot steps, and enter into China, since China has become one of the dominant, low-cost suppliers in the world. The article says that Gamesa was willing to do almost anything to be able to enter into the market, that they even refuse to tell their own government about how China does not play fair by the rules.
