Administrivia Review (Basic Math) Looking Ahead Overview Brief Overview Statistics, by and large, is a language course. At the end of this class, you won’t be able to do all your own data analyses. The goal is for you to be able to understand statistics at a meaningful level, whether you are reading journal articles working with a statistician on data analysis taking more classes that rely on this material just being an active, informed person

Administrivia Review (Basic Math) Looking Ahead Overview This class is designed as a “sampler” of sorts. There are four major topics that we’ll cover; each topic is very useful in the social sciences and has a corresponding class here at UF. Topic Chapter Course Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) 14 STA 4211 Regression Analysis 12, 13 STA 4210 Categorical Data Analysis 11 STA 4504 Nonparametric Statistics 15 STA 4502 This is generally the order we’ll go in this class, with the exception that nonparametric methods will be introduced throughout the course instead of all at once.
