Student Edition Lab Assignment: Connecting to the Internet CASE: You volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center on Wednesday afternoons. The Center sponsors several clubs, including clubs for stamp collecting, art appreciation, music studies, travel, and gourmet cooking. The members of each club would like to use the Internet for research, to locate and share photos, music, and video files, and for e-mail and chatting. The Center has just received a donation of five computers. Your job is to research ISPs in the area and make recommendations to the board for the best way to connect the new computers to the Internet. TASK: 1. Create a new word processing document and save it as GettingOnline . doc . Create the table shown below. 2. Research local ISPs. You can do this by looking for advertisements in the local papers and magazines, or by checking the local phone book. Alternatively, you can log onto the Internet and use a search engine to find local ISPs. Find at least one service provider that provides a connection to the Internet in each of the
