This essay aims to address the issues encountered by Mechmar Shipping with  the increasingly amount of foreign employees from various neighboring  countries, as well as to improve Organizational Commitment and Job  involvement. It will also highlight on ways to develop a “shared culture” among  the diverse workforce. Job Involvement  measures the degree to which people identify psychologically  with their job and consider their perceived performance level important to self – worth.” (Robbins, 2009, p113).  Level of involvement is directly related to  achievement of a goal. There are different aspects of judging levels of job  involvement in a job. Job satisfaction is of foremost importance. In this case,  Mechmar Shipping’s percentage of local employees had fallen to 30% over the  past 10 years and this leads to workforce diversity issue.
