Napier 1 Emily Napier Dr. Kim Miller THTR 130 April 19, 2020 Look Back in Anger The play Look Back in Anger is a realist play written by John Osborne. It is a very interesting play about a very rude, disturbed young man named Jimmy. He verbally abuses his wife, Alison, and his friend, Cliff, just about constantly. Alison is a very young, beautiful woman. She does everything in her power to make Jimmy happy. Alison figures out she is pregnant with Jimmy’s child, but she is simply just too afraid to tell him. Alison’s friend, Helena, calls and visits her for a while. Alison tells Helena that she is pregnant and simply does not know what to do. Taking matters into her own hands, Helena, writes to Alison’s mother and father back home telling them to come get Alison. Here are where things get a little fishy. Alison’s father follows Helena’s wishes and takes Alison back home. Of course, you just think Helena is being a good friend and just want her friend to be saved from such a toxic relationship, but it’s in her own interest. As soon as Alison leaves, Helena starts a relationship with Jimmy. This relationship does not last very long though, Helena also leaves Jimmy after
