BA 151 – Human Resource Management Preparing for the Final Exam 1. Review the exams and review sheet to identify major terms, principles, assumptions, ideas and concepts. Make a note of those and make sure you still understand them in sufficient depth. Preparing your course paper should have helped you review these. 2. If you haven’t read the assigned chapters and readings, you should probably start now. If you have read them, especially if you read them before the lecture on a particular topic, then skim the chapters and readings to pull out the main points and terms. The subject matter should be familiar to you and the review process should just be a rehearsal of what you already know. If it doesn’t feel that way, read more closely until you become comfortable with the material. 3. For the readings, pick out the 2 or 3 most important points in the article. Especially focus on the points I brought out in lecture or that you practiced during an in-class exercise (e.g., performance rating exercise). 4. To help prepare for short answer and essay questions, try to answer these types of questions, filling in the blanks with various terms and principles: What is the importance of ____________ in obtaining highly effective employees? How do you do _______________ effectively? How do you increase the effectiveness of __________________? If I had to apply __________________ principle to a real situation, how would I
