STRESS AND HEALTH In a challenging condition, personal appraisals come to be the critical factors to determine the psychological consequences of the situation i.e. the measure of the stress. Creating pessimistic thoughts can easily get the psychostasis equilibrium unbalanced and triggers a great deal of hormone secretion which distort biological functioning and internal regulations (“The Fight or Flight Response” 22). In spite of the fact that some psychologists allege that it is hard to say verify a direct link between stress and biological changings on human body (“Lay Had History of Heart Disease, but Did The Stress Do It?” ABC News), the biological progress obviously extends a plausible cause-and-effect connection and the demanding reactions of body. Doctor Oakley Ray provides some statistics in his article called “A New Paradigm for Understanding Health and Treating Illness” to prove the necessity of a new paradigm which explores the hard-wired relation between four major concepts i.e. mind (psycho), nervous system, endocrine and immune system. The experimental results and illustrative explanations of the article refute the controversial opinions arguing invalidity of the stress-related diseases in ABC News feature. However, those claims
