Transnational Gangs A key language all gangs understand = violence Is it possible for gang members to suffer from PTSD? –YES Can you get desensitized from violence over time? –YES LA is NOT the birth place of gangs in US MS13 and 18 street originated in LA There is a myth that they came from el Salvador but its not true Is it illegal to be a gang member in the united states- NO. It Is a protected right.But in mexico and other countries it is illegal to be a member of a gang. Sterotyping— with groups occurs Do we steroptype street gangs? GangActivity? How and if gangs migrate? What fuels immigration if it occurs? Do we steroptype immigrants, groups of people, the police?
