Even before the Protestant there were divisions within Christianity. Constantinople is the capital of the Eastern Orthodox Church. 5. Habsburg dynasty: today in Austria, strong family. Holy Roman Empire (Roman Catholic): made up with small kingdoms. Same time as Martin Luther was challenging, Maximilian I became Holy Roman Emperor and then Charles V took over after his death. 6.
