Doran Annotated Bibliographies Please follow the guidelines (below) when writing an annotated bibliography for this class: Citation: Make sure your citation is formatted according to MLA, APA, or another appropriate style. You may use whatever formal citation format with which you are most comfortable. Please refer to KnightCite, or another reputable online program, for proper format. The formatted citation must precede the annotation. Annotation - Paragraph #1: In the first paragraph, explain what the author is doing: State the author’s purpose : This cannot be a vague or general statement. Use the show-not-tell method. Explain the author’s thesis . Show that you have read the document and understand it thoroughly. NOTE: Do not give information from the article. This is not an abstract. Annotation – Paragraph #2: Detail the authority of the author . What makes the author a reputable source—or is the author not a reputable source? Why/why not? Explain
