OR AT LEAST THE TITLE OF MY EMAIL MESSAGES They may lift up your letter grades! 3 Grading • Your ranking within the section you are registered in, based on the following: – 3 tests 80, 100 and 120 pts each – Final 200 pts – HW 100 pts – Quizzes 100 pts • Unannounced in-class quizzes help check instant understanding and class attendance – Total 700 pts • Grading policies will be strictly followed, with the exception in the next slide. 4 Exception • I reserve the right to bump up a student's term grade if he/she did exceptionally well in the final exam. • In return you agree that you will NOT use this as a basis for grade appeal: – How come someone who has lower overall score than I have receive an A while I only got a B? 5 Exams • Three evening exams ( 9/27, 10/25 and 11/18 ) and a final (TBA). – No crib sheet is allowed, but formula page will be provided in the exam booklet if necessary. – Assigned seat only. Bring PU ID card. – Scheduling conflicts must be notified 1 week before the exam. Written support/evidence is required. – If extended exam time is requested, 2 weeks of notification and a support letter are required. – In case of serious illness or family emergency, one and only one test might be waived. Permission from the Dean of Students Office or a letter from a Doctor is required. • You will receive a grade corresponding to your weighted course average at the end of the semester. • Your course grade will be determined by other tests, Final and HW. 6 Homework Grading • 3 sets per week – Due at 2pm in MSEE 264 – late HW will be accepted fur up to half credit. – Deadline for late homework: • 2 class days past the regular submission date. – 4 lowest-Scored HW sets will be dropped. • 3, 2, 1 or 0 points per graded HW problem – 3 points if the problem is correctly set up and is solved correctly or almost correctly....
