In your bag you have been given exactly one mole of a compound that contains each of these candy elements. Introduction: The percent composition of a compound is a relative measure of the mass of each different element present in the compound. Procedure: To calculate the percent composition of your compound: 1. How to calculate the molar mass of the compound: - To do this, first find the mass if an empty Styrofoam cup on the triple beam balance. RECORD! - Pour all of your candy-atoms into the cup and determine the mass of the cup and the candy using the triple beam balance. RECORD - Subtract to find the molar mass of the compound. RECORD
