EML 4147C Design Project Task A: Problem Definition Due Date: actual date shown on website (about mid-semester) You must identify a specific application that requires convective heating or cooling. Any topic you choose is acceptable as long as it is realistic. Warning: don't be too ambitious. You are to turn in a single paragraph description of the heat transfer problem for which you will be designing a heat exchanger. You must identify the maximum heat load you expect to encounter and all associated flow rates. You must identify the thermodynamic states of the fluids entering and exiting the heat exchanger at that maximum load. Make sure you do a heat balance to ensure the energy given up by one fluid is the same as that absorbed by the other fluid. I am not looking for a complete report, just a description of your preliminary work. Task B: Design a heat exchanger that meets the design specifications described in Task A. In your design you should identify the following:
