Data This assignment uses census 2000 datasets. The data is at: ~\shared\assign_data\assign4 , where you will find the following files: Census dataset as a shapefile [ cenblk.shp, cenblk.dbf, cenblk.shx, cenblk.prj ] Census accompanying table in dbf format [ sf3.dbf ] Metadata for both above files [ cenblk.html ] Preparatory work Load census dataset into a new ArcMap project. Zoom to Alachua County. Rename the layer and use a single symbol legend. Go under File>Map Document Properties and check button 'Store Relative Pathnames' o Save the project. In ArcMap, in the 'Properties' dialog of the census layer click over the tab 'Source' and watch for projection information. Should there be any? Why? watch for projection information....
