The eld of urban economics addresses a variety of issues including the existence of cities and city growth, transportation, the price of land, housing, poverty, segregation, and crime. At the end of the course you should be able to explain observations on urban growth by critiquing the theoretical propositions and empirical ndings you study. Prerequisites All students should have taken 01:220:320 (or 203). In addition, all students should have taken 220:322. All students should have a good command of the material taught in these courses. You should review this material at the beginning of the course. 1 Text There is no textbook for this course. Lecture Outline The following is a list of lecture topics.
