(a) i. Calculate the mean/average closing price and the standard deviation of the prices. ii. Determine the range, median, and the 1st and 3rd quartiles. Hence, deter- mine the interquartile range. iii. Draw a box plot and identify the outlier(s). (b) Remove the outlier(s) from the data and re-calculate the mean, median and standard deviation. 2. The marks of 5 students are 65, 72, 76, 87, and 91. (a) Find the average mark, the variance and standard deviation of the marks. (b) The 5 marks have each been increased by 3. Find the average mark, the vari- ance and standard deviation of the marks. (c) Ignore part b). Suppose instead that the 5 marks have each been multiplied by 1.2. Find the average mark, the variance and standard deviation of the marks.
