Description of the Course: An introduction to the valuation of real and financial assets with applications to financial management. Topics include estimating cash flows and required rates of return, discounted cash flow valuations, capital budgeting, the use of debt and equity financing, and short-term financial planning. Prerequisites: ACC 240, ECN 112 and QBA 221. These prerequisites are mandatory and for good reason as this course utilizes the material you have learned in the prerequisite courses. Calculators and Spreadsheet Analysis: A financial calculator will be useful and serve to save time on calculations, but a calculator that can handle the basic four functions plus Time Value of Money (PV, FV) will be adequate.
