What Is a fetish?? Fetishism Generally speaking, the term “fetishism” refers to  excessive attention or attachment to something.  This concept is analyzed by anthropological,  Marxist, and psychological approaches. Psychological literature, as well as most of the  world, focuses on “sexual fetishism”. This is the  use of a non-genital object to achieve sexual  gratification. Moreover, it is an erotic attachment to  inanimate objects or ordinarily asexual parts of the  human body. (Ellen, 1988)
