Chemistry 11500 Lab Safety Certification 1. Using your Purdue Career account, log on to “Blackboard Vista, West Lafayette Campus”. http://www.itap.purdue.edu/tlt/blackboard/ 2. Under the “My Blackboard” tab, find and click on the link for “Spring – 2012 – CHM – 11500 – 001 – General Chemistry”. 3. On the CHM 11500 Home Page, click on the “Safety Certification” link. 4. Click on the “Safety Tutorial” link and view the tutorial, which will load in a new window. 5. Next click on the “Safety Certification” link in Blackboard. The assessment will open in a new window. 6. Read the instructions and answer the fifteen (15) questions. Instructions for the Safety Certification Quiz You may refer to the “Safety Tutorial” and the safety policies that are included in your course packet or lab manual while answering the questions.

Note that you have unlimited attempts within the set time period to obtain a passing score. Confirm your score by clicking the My Grades tab in Blackboard. Note that the safety certification must be completed and passed by 1:00 PM, Sunday, January 22, 2012. Beginning Week 3 (week of January 23), any student who has not successfully completed the safety certification will not be allowed to work in lab until after the safety certification has been successfully completed. Any lab that a student misses due to incompletion of the safety certification will be counted as an unexcused absence, and the student will receive a grade of zero for that lab....
