Justin Kucera Psych 211 Section 002 January 24, 2012 Journal #1 As a future educator, I am very excited, overall, about the opportunity to work with kids. Because of my future career, I am pleased to be able to work in a school for the semester. The chance to connect with kids is what led me to my future profession. The chance to build a special bond with many kids is great opportunity that I am very grateful for. My field placement at Summer-Knoll School excites me very much, but it does raise some concerns of mine. There are a few things that concern me about Summer-Knoll School. The biggest concern of mine is the fact that it is not a conventional school. I am a very conservative and traditional person, so the uniqueness of the school kind of makes me nervous. Also, their self-discipline is another area that I am unsure how to handle. Especially with kids at a young age, I can imagine that difficult situations could arise and escalate quickly. Also, generally speaking, working with young kids makes me nervous as well. I am the youngest in my family, so I’ve never really delt
