Justin Kucera Section 007 1. Because behavioral traits are so influential over such a wide part of an animals’ actions, it changes the actions of the animal toward others of its species. Therefore, these different behaviors lead to actions that affect their physical relationships with others, resulting in different physical phenotypes. For example, the more tame foxes opened their eyes earlier, and responded to sound. Perhaps this earlier exposure to sound and human contact lessened its fear and led to a fox not needing to listen for predators, leading to the droopy ears. But if it were the other way around (selecting for a physical trait) unless the physical trait encouraged increased social behavior then it would not have as a wide-spread of an impact. 2. Based on Trut’s article, I do not believe that a crocodile could be domesticated for a couple reasons. For one, crocodiles are much more aggressive than foxes. In order to domesticate an animal like they domesticated foxes, people have to be able to physically
