Trends Biochem Sci. 32:555-60 1) (1 pt) Very briefly describe two effects that have been observed in animals that have been administered resveratol? The first effect that was found to be experimentally true was, in a combination of two studies, that addition of resveratrol to a high fat, high calorie diet overcame the deleterious effects imposed by this caloric increase. They also found in one of these studies that the shortening of lifespan by the high fat diet was reversed after the animals were administered resveratrol. The second study found that resveratrol increased SIRT1 activation, PGC-1 deacetlyation, and mitochondrial biogenesis in muscle.
