The O’dome employs nearly 350 employees who work on a part-time schedule. Each employee is required to sign up for a minimum of 5 shifts per semester. Proposed Idea for Employee Evaluation: Standards, goals, processes, etc. need to be explained to each employee during training. Employees need to be informed on how to receive rewards for their work. In addition, good performance will likely occur when organization and employee’s goals converge. Employees will perform better if they like the reward they are given. Currently, employees are given money to Gator Dining as a reward. The O’dome should look into new kinds of rewards as money to Gator Dining is not too enticing to some students. A reward system is most effective when the reward is enticing to all employees. Evaluations need to be tailored to the individual’s job description, and must pertain to the standards set in the training sessions Employees are to be told what their evaluation will consist of.
