Susan Martinez 8/30/11 Social Foundations of Education 1. In what way do the current macro and/or micro economic contexts affect the field of education? Given that macroeconomics deals with the economy as a whole in terms of unemployment and inflation, the current state in which the U.S. is in drastically affects the fields of education. For one, unemployment rates are on the rise, which means more people in lower income areas, which could lead to possible overcrowding in schools in that region. Overpopulation in early education can lead to less attention to those students who really need it as the teacher can be overwhelmed with a larger class size. 2. In what way does the current political context affect the field of education?

In this new approach, schools measure whether students are ready for college or a career. This new approach is better than the No Child Left Behind Act because it is geared towards improving the economy and society by guiding the up and coming youth towards higher education or a booming career of interest.
